Music and film festivals, cooking classes and more are highlights of this week’s arts and cultural events in Jackson Hole.

Drop by the Jackson Hole Book Trader for an evening celebrating the re-release of Struthers Burt’s Diary of a Dude Wrangler on Thursday, February 7th, 5:30-7:00 pm. 

The historic Bar BC Ranch, located in Grand Teton National Park, was the setting for Burt’s journalistic style of storytelling. Moving to the ranch in the early 20th century, Burt shares exciting and interesting tales of the dude ranch, transporting his readers to the true Wild West. 

The Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to Jackson Hole for its 26th year February 7-8th.  Hosted by Skinny Skis, the films range from unique documentaries to high-action movies. All celebrate the spirit of adventure and the mountain environment.  All films will be shown at the Jackson Hole High School Auditorium from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Grand Teton Music Festival’s Winter Festival once again is bringing incredible musical talent to Jackson Hole, February 7 – 9th, with performances and talks at St. John’s Episcopal Church. 

Two of the four events showcase Festival musician Kimi Kawashima with baritone Michael Chipman for a performance of Schubert’s Winterreise, and pianist Reed Tetzloff Performs Chopin and Liszt. For the full line-up, visit dailywonder.org.

ARC’TERYX Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Academy Photo Contest, Jackson Hole Exposure, will be held at Center for the Arts, Saturday February 9th at 8:00 pm.  Six pro photographers go head to head in a photo showdown style event, showing their five minute slide show of accumulative images shot from the past three days, capturing the essence of the backcountry ski and snowboard culture that surrounds the Tetons.

If you want to learn more about gluten-free baking, join Suzanne Epstein for a discussion on the definition and fundamentals of “gluten-free” and the benefits. She will touch on the challenges and tips of high altitude baking, and cooking methods will include dough making, bread forming, proofing, baking. Recipes include sandwich bread loaf and almond flour brownies.  Tuesday, February 12, 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Central Wyoming College Jackson.
